Rivian has switched on the online configurator for the R2, giving buyers a clearer picture of how quickly the final price climbs once options start stacking up. Deliveries for the electric crossover are getting closer after the company already handed over the first examples to employees. Sales activity for the R2 began in June.

The launch phase centers around the Performance all-wheel-drive version. Rivian pairs the trim with a temporary Launch Package, though the company did not attach a clear deadline for availability. Buyers who select the package receive Autonomy+, the Tow Package, Launch Green paint, and a Launch key fob. Rivian states Autonomy+ stays tied to the vehicle permanently after purchase.

Pricing varies heavily depending on trim choice. The R2 Performance starts at $57,990. A Premium all-wheel-drive variant follows later this year at $53,990. Rivian plans a Standard series for 2027, including an all-wheel-drive version priced at $51,990 and a rear-wheel-drive alternative at $48,490. Every all-wheel-drive model carries a quoted EPA range of 330 miles. The rear-wheel-drive trim stretches farther, reaching 345 miles.

Paint selections push the number upward fast. Esker Silver arrives as standard equipment. Glacier White adds $1,000. Forest Green and Half Moon Grey each require $1,500. Buyers choosing Midnight, Catalina Cove, Launch Green, or Borealis pay $2,000. Some restrictions appear inside the configurator, too. Borealis and Forest Green stay limited to Performance trims during 2027, while Catalina Cove skips the Standard trim entirely.

Wheel upgrades follow the same pattern. The Performance model starts with 21-inch Liquid Tungsten wheels paired with all-season tires. A switch to 20-inch Black Sand wheels and all-terrain rubber costs another $1,000. Premium trims use 20-inch BiColor Carbon wheels as standard equipment. Moving toward 21-inch Liquid Tungsten wheels with all-terrain tires raises the bill by $2,000.

Interior choices stay fairly limited for now. Rivian currently delivers every R2 with a Black Crater Signature cabin. Coastal Cloud Signature trim arrives later in 2026 and adds another $1,000, including on the Premium version. Standard trims receive a Black Crater interior without the Signature treatment.

Accessory pricing looks steep in several areas. Rivian lists the Wall Charger at $800, while the portable charger drops to $400. A J1772 AC adapter costs $50. The Combo CCS1 DC adapter sits at $200. One detail stands out more than the others, though. Rivian charges $200 for the Cargo Cover, a piece many buyers expect from the factory already.
