The star of our show today is this gorgeous white Dodge Charger Daytona available for sale at CA$58,400. And if you are asking me whether it’s cheap or expensive, I’d say it’s a real bargain. Why? There`s a CA$50,000 drop off from its original price of CA$106,493, available at Oakville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Ontario.
This 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is practically new, with just 171 miles to cover so far. The reason why the serious drop off is that it was actually reported to be riddled with serious issues, as Canada owners stated.
This particular example is a Scat Pack. The entry-level Charger Daytona starts at CA$53,995 (US 39,500) in Canada, and is available with Scat Pack that adds CA$26,905 (US 19,700), bringing the base price to CA$80,300 (US 59,200) without any further packages. Twin motors deliver power of 670 hp and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) and the option list includes a 16-inch digital.
It is quick on paper. It also makes a bold statement.
The alternatives mount up thereafter. A CA$9,495 (US$6,900) Plus Group is qualified with ventilated seats, power lumbar adjustment on both front occupants, ambient lighting, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. The Sun & Sound package with a fixed glass roof and an 18-speaker Alpine sound system costs CA$3,696 (US$2,700). Next is the CA$ 6195 (US$4500) Track Pack, which includes high-performance brakes, one-piece black spoiler, revised adaptive suspension settings, and red brake calipers.
It also offers CA$3,995 (US$2,900) of the Carbon and Suede packages, which are equipped with carbon and suede accents and 20-inch black wheels with all-season tires (305/25 and 325/35) wrapped.
The all-electric Charger Daytona is described as big and heavy, and reportedly riddled with issues according to some owners. In Canada, it can also be configured with tens of thousands of dollars in options. As this example shows, much of that added cost appears to evaporate once it reaches the used market.
Even at CA$58,400 (US$42,700), it may not move quickly. The dealer could be open to trimming the number further just to shift it.
Six figures not long ago. Barely above fifty-eight thousand now. What happens next is less certain.
